 CameraTime

CameraTime
(download)
is a PC/Windows program that tells you how far off GMT (otherwise
known as Greenwich Mean Time or ZULU Time or UTC Time) time your
camera's clock is.

This information can be used when geocoding pictures from GPS
(Global Positioning System) data.
GPS times are usually in GMT time (the time in London,
England). Therefore, for GPS purposes, and for avoiding
confusion while travelling, it can be handy to simply set
    your camera's time to GMT.

Installation:
Unzip the files to a directory/folder of your choice.

CameraTime.exe and library.zip are the program.

Uninstall:
    Erase the files.

    Note:
CameraTime creates a tiny file named
tz_cameratime.ini in a directory under the
PC user's "Application Data" directory. You
may remove tz_cameratime.ini or leave it. No
        harm either way.

How CameraTime works:

CameraTime displays graphical "bullets" on your screen.
These "bullets" encode the current GMT time for the current day.

You shoot JPEG pictures of the bullets.

You transfer the JPEG pictures from your camera to your PC.

You tell CameraTime to examine the pictures.

CameraTime decodes the bullets and compares them to the time
of the pictures, as set by your camera.

Firewall / net use / etc.:
CameraTime contacts the internet, if possible, when it starts and does this:

Gets the current GMT time and fixes a wrong PC time if you say so.

Checks for program updates.

Neither net access is required for operation, but ...

You want CameraTime to check the time, as your PC's clock can
        easily be wrong.

If CameraTime finds an update, it downloads the new ZIP file
to the directory/folder that CameraTime.exe is in. CameraTime
        notifies you after the download.
